The Africa Cup of Nations 2025 (AFCON) will take place from December 21st, 2025 to January 18th, 2026, in Morocco. This will only be the second time Morocco hosts the tournament, after doing so in 1988.
Reigning champions Ivory Coast will aim to defend their title against fierce competitors like Egypt, Senegal, Nigeria, Algeria, Cameroon and of course, the hosting nation Morocco. The tournament showcases every two years the very best of African football, with world-class talent and passionate fan support. The winners of the Africa Cup of Nations
In the first position, Egypt is the most successful team in Africa Cup of Nations history, winning the trophy on seven occasions, the last one in 2010. Cameroon follows with five titles, while Ghana is close behind with four.
Nigeria and Ivory Coast have both claimed three AFCON titles, followed by Algeria and DR Congo with two trophies. Zambia, Tunisia, Sudan, Senegal, South Africa, Ethiopia, Morocco, and Congo have each won one title, with Senegal being the most recent first-time winner in 2021.
Overall, Egypt, Nigeria, and Ghana are the most consistent performers in AFCON history, while Cameroon and Ivory Coast remain strong competitors.

The cities and stadiums hosting AFCON 2025
Morocco has designated nine stadiums across six cities for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations tournament. The capital city, Rabat, will feature four venues, including the 69,500-seat Complexe Sportif Prince Moulay Abdellah, which is set to host the opening match, a semi-final, and the final. Other host cities include Casablanca, Agadir, Marrakech, Fez, and Tangier.
