This page explains how footballticket.club selects, ranks and displays the offers shown on the Site, and how the Site is paid. It is published in accordance with Article 7(4a) of Directive 2005/29/EC as amended by Directive (EU) 2019/2161, and with the equivalent UK consumer protection rules.
1. What the Site does
footballticket.club is an independent price comparison site. We do not sell tickets, hold inventory, take payment or become party to any contract of sale. We collect offers published by third-party ticketing platforms, match them to the relevant fixture and send you to the seller’s own website to complete your purchase. The contract of sale is formed directly between you and that seller, on the seller’s terms.
2. Display order
The Site has three kinds of page, and display order works differently on each.
Pages listing several fixtures
Club, competition and city pages list upcoming fixtures. By default these are ordered by date, soonest first. You can choose to reorder them by price.
Each row shows the date, the event name and a “from” price, and links through to the event page. These pages carry no affiliate links: no remuneration is attached to the order in which fixtures are presented on them.
The advanced search page lists fixtures in the same way. It is ordered by date by default and can be reordered by price, cheapest or most expensive first. It also offers filters: dates, price range, ticket type, seller, country, competition and derby, an availability switch that is on by default and hides fixtures with no tickets currently on sale, and an official / authorised agents filter that keeps only the fixtures for which at least one official or authorised agent of the club is selling. A filter removes the fixtures that do not match it. It never changes the order of the fixtures that remain, and like the other listing pages its results carry no affiliate links.
Groundhopping trips
The Groundhopping page groups upcoming fixtures into trips: several matches close enough together to be seen on one journey. Trips are ordered by total price, lowest first, rather than by date. You can reorder them by date, by number of grounds, or by least travel.
Two further rules shape the list before you see it, and neither depends on any payment to us. A trip whose matches are all already contained in a higher-placed trip is not shown a second time, and the page displays forty trips with a button to load more. When no city is selected, those forty are dealt one per region instead of taken straight off the top, so the opening view shows the cheapest trip in each of forty regions rather than the forty cheapest trips overall.
The price shown against a trip adds up the cheapest available offer for each match in it, for one person. It excludes any fees added at checkout, and it excludes accommodation and travel.
The list of destinations presented first groups the countries within 3,500 km of the starting point used for this Site, ordered among themselves by the number of fixtures available. The other countries stay one click away, with the same count. That order reflects distance and the number of fixtures only: no remuneration plays any part in it.
Event pages: price, always
It is on an event page that offers from different sellers are compared. There they are ranked by a single parameter: price, ascending. The cheapest offer is always shown first, without exception. That ranking applies within the offer type on display, described in section 4.
The price used for each seller is the lowest price that seller reports for the event concerned, converted where applicable into the currency displayed.
What determines whether a seller appears at all
A seller appears in the comparison for a fixture only where both of the following are true:
- tickets for that event are actually available in the data the seller supplies to us;
- the seller is eligible to list that event, since some sellers do not cover particular clubs, stadiums or competitions.
These two conditions determine whether an offer is in the list, not where it sits in it. Once the list is built, position depends on price alone.
3. Our remuneration does not influence ranking
The commission we earn plays no part at any point in how offers are ranked. No seller can pay for a better position, for prominence or for priority display on the Site.
Ranking by ascending price applies identically to every seller compared, whether or not they pay us. On pages listing several fixtures the question does not arise: those pages carry no affiliate links.
4. Offer types and filters
On an event page, the list opens by default on offers of the “Tickets” type, meaning tickets on their own. Other offer types, for example ticket with hotel, ticket with hotel and flight, or VIP offers, exist for some fixtures but stay hidden until you select the corresponding type. If no “Tickets” offer is available for the fixture you are viewing, the list opens on the first available offer type.
You can change offer type at any time. You can also switch on the “Official” filter, which limits the display to offers from sellers flagged as authorised resellers. That filter is off by default: it applies only if you switch it on.
A filter hides offers that do not match the criterion you chose. It does not change the order of the remaining offers, which stays governed by ascending price.
5. How we are paid
The Site is free to use. Affiliate links appear on event pages and, for accommodation only, on the Groundhopping page. When you click an offer and buy tickets on the seller’s website, we may earn an affiliate commission paid by that seller. This commission does not change the price you pay: it is the same price you would get by going to the seller’s website directly.
Commissions are paid through affiliate networks or directly by sellers. Rates vary from one seller to another, with no effect on the ranking described in section 3.
On the Groundhopping page the accommodation button, which goes to a single booking partner (Hotels.com), is an affiliate link. The match links go to event pages on this Site and are not affiliate links. Neither plays any part in the order in which trips are presented, described in section 2.
6. Which sellers we compare
The Site does not compare the whole market. We compare offers from sellers whose catalogue data we are able to access, currently 14 sellers. Other sellers may offer the same events without appearing on the Site.
A seller may be removed from the comparison, either entirely or for particular clubs, stadiums or competitions, for reasons including poor data quality, technical unavailability or the end of the commercial relationship.
7. Displayed prices
Displayed prices are the lowest price reported by each seller for the event concerned, as at the last update of that seller’s data. They are indicative and may change between the moment we retrieve them and the moment you reach the seller’s website. The same applies to the “from” price shown on pages listing several fixtures.
Displayed prices are before fees. They do not include the service, delivery or payment fees a seller may add at checkout. The total price payable, with all fees included, is shown on the seller’s website before you confirm your order.
Where a seller publishes prices in another currency, the amount shown is converted using the exchange rate in force at the last update. The amount actually charged may differ slightly.
8. Seller partnership labels
Some offers carry a label indicating that the seller is an authorised reseller or official partner of the club or organiser for the event concerned. That label describes the relationship between the seller and the club, not a relationship between footballticket.club and the club.
These labels are recorded seller by seller and event by event, from information supplied by the seller. Where we hold no verified information, no label is shown. A partnership label confers no positional advantage: it is visible on the offer, but ranking remains governed by price.
If you see a label you believe is inaccurate, report it to contact@footballticket.club and it will be removed or corrected.
9. Reporting an error
To report an incorrect price, an unavailable offer, an inaccurate partnership label or any other inaccuracy, write to contact@footballticket.club. We deal with reports promptly and correct or remove the information concerned.
